The idea of being “present” is similar to being fully cognizant of your surroundings. To help achieve that becoming aware of your 5 senses (6 senses to some) will help you get there.
What do you see around you? What do you hear? What smells are in the air? What do you feel? How do you feel?Can you taste anything in your mouth? Being aware of all the answers to these questions will help you be fully present in your environment. Then there is also the use of “common sense” which can help you stay safe within the presence of your environment.
